't Eemgoed is a village estate in Oosterwold, on the edge of Almere. Eighty-two homes sit in eight gently curved longhouses across seven hectares, with the Eemhuis as a community building and ten landscape rooms around them. The estate is car-free, energy-neutral and bio-based. A group of prospective residents, brought together through an initiative by 2OPEN, was looking for a partner to turn the project into reality. With design, development and construction all under one roof, cepezed was the ideal partner to make that happen.

cepezed's three disciplines worked alongside the future residents from the first sketch to completion, giving shape to their dream of a village estate. cepezedprojects developed the estate, cepezed produced the design and cepezedbouwteam coordinated construction. Around 130 adults and fifty children now live here, several of them born on the estate. Living here means living in a place where nature, collaboration, sharing and looking out for one another are a matter of course. Residents are responsible for managing what they own together: the vegetable gardens, waterways, orchards and food forests.
