At the same time, we aim to ensure that our architecture does not deplete the planet’s stock of raw materials.

Founded in 1974 to innovate the building industry, our office envisions a construction world in which materials have a long lifespan and reuse is the norm. This calls for high-quality building components, demountable and reassemblable structures, flexible floor layouts and a timeless architectural signature.

Ideally, demolition makes way for renovation and transformation. Retaining an existing shell alone already reduces CO₂ emissions significantly. Therefore, even when demolition appears to be an option, we explore the potential for reuse — be it universally acclaimed buildings or less distinctive ones.

A kit-of-parts design changes the construction process. Dry assembly can be done cleanly and quickly, while high-quality prefabricated components ensure that the structure is the finishing. Materials – preferably circular or bio-based – are used efficiently, and thanks to its low weight, a kit-of-parts design lends itself to low-emission construction.

cepezed specialises in reuse. We design new buildings for reassembly and apply circular materials within a kit-of-parts approach. Our BIM experts systematically label building components, ensuring that their condition is known both now and in the future. By making data comparable, they enhance communication between all partners involved.

To really make a difference, we rely on sound, down-to-earth analysis, and our solutions can be unorthodox at times. We spar and sketch, and we develop digital tools to gather exactly the data we need. Data helps us to understand the design and to convince a client or contractor.
