cepezed designs a new multitenant building for the Bio Science Park in Leiden. With over 15.000 m² of flexibly lettable offices and laboratories, the building is geared to the growing need that companies in the Life Science sector have for custom housing. The building will also house general facilities stimulating the interaction and innovation at the park.
The new building will be located at the Kop van Leeuwenhoek on the Plesmanlaan. This location is right next to the park entrance and about one kilometer away from the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) that cepezed designed for the park previously. The Leiden Bio Science Park accommodates around 130 companies and a variety of educational and research institutions, including Leiden University and the Leiden University Medical Center. This makes it one of the top science parks in The Netherlands and leading in the field of Life Science and Health.
The new multitenant company building is a development by Kadans Science Partner, expert in housing the knowledge-intensive sector in and around science parks and university campuses. For Kadans, cepezed is currently also designing another research building called The Accelerator, which will be located at the Science Park Utrecht.
The sustainability ambition for the new Leiden building is a BREEAM-NL Excellent certificate. The project is now in the structural design phase and completion is planned for the first quarter of 2021. Tielemans Consultancy provides the stability consultancy and Deerns the MEP and HVAC consultancy.
