Alongside the A12 in Woerden, you will find the commercial building that cepezed designed for Ronic, a producer of display materials and shop interiors. The jury of the National Steel Prize 2004 called the building the perfect example of more quality in industrial construction. The current user is QBTEC, a manufacturer of catering equipment and furniture.

Smart use of space 

To avoid large building volumes, only a part of the plot could be built upon. However, a great deal of space was needed for the accommodation. Accordingly, the premises were designed as a rectangular volume, which covers the full area within the building line. A number of large patios have been cut out of this form.

Daily dose of daylight 

Along the patios, the profile of the steel cladding continues in 50% perforated stainless steel. The patio façades themselves are executed in glass. In combination with the large voids in the first floor, this allows daylight to penetrate deep into the building.

The interior 

QBTEC’s office building in Woerden provides a range of spaces. There are offices, a reception hall, showroom, company restaurant, production areas, storage rooms and a dispatch bay. The shape and layout of the building are mainly determined by the user’s production process and the elongated dimensions of the plot.
