Paddy studied Architecture at the Rotterdam Institute of Architecture Civil Engineering & Urban Planning and then Construction Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Even before graduating from TU Delft in 2003, he worked at several architectural firms, including cepezed and Atelier Kempe Thill in Rotterdam. At cepezed's sister company cepezedbouwteam, he additionally worked on a series of industrially designed distribution centers, through which he also understood cepezed's DNA from the execution perspective.

In 2004, he permanently rejoined cepezed and was part of cepezed's management team for many years to become a partner within the firm in 2015. Since the beginning of 2019, he has been part of the BNA Membership Council, where he serves for at least three years. He also sits on the BNA's Policy Advisory Committee, where he advises the main board on business practices of architectural firms.

Paddy regularly gives lectures at home and abroad on the topics at the heart of cepezeds character: circular & modular building, innovative solutions and sustainability. Since 2016, he has also been a jury member of the Student Steel Prize.
