cepezed end of year video 2024

This video cannot be played because your cookie settings block the use of third-party cookies (such as Vimeo).

2024 was a special year for cepezed. We celebrated our 50th anniversary with a big party. We produced a publication, organised lectures, and set up a Wunderkammer, with the "kit of parts" as the overarching theme. Equally significant was the farewell to Jan Pesman, the ‘pe’ in cepezed. Fortunately, he stayed just long enough to win the Nationale Staalprijs with the Villa te Meijendel, a demountable kit of parts straight out of the book.

In 2024, no fewer than four school buildings designed by cepezed were opened – very diverse buildings, yet unmistakably cepezed. The PI Haaglanden in Scheveningen demonstrated the potential of a kit of parts design for emission-free construction. And the municipal office of West Betuwe showed what a wooden kit of parts could achieve.

From the A12 in The Hague, it was clear to see how the construction of the Eenheidsbureau was progressing: the impressive supporting structure rose surprisingly quickly. In Roosendaal, the final design of the Bravis Hospital was presented. This new regional hospital will be situated in a landscape park, with plants and trees playing an important role in the design.

In 2024, we spoke with Queen Máxima, travelled to Germany for commissions, and made the news with an island made from discarded wind turbine rotor blades. Because, in our view, the future revolves around transformation and reuse, we organised a knowledge event on circular construction in Westraven. We’re learning as we go from projects like Cultureel Centrum Oss, Kennis Centrum Heerde, and the VU AB wing, and we’re learning from each other.

We thank everyone with whom we’ve collaborated this year, whether again or for the first time, wish everyone a happy holiday season, and look forward to 2025!
