minister of engelshoven performs first construction act cc nl

Today, Minister Ingrid van Engelshoven of Education, Culture and Science performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Collection Center Netherlands (CC NL) designed by cepezed. With that, construction in Amersfoort of the largest collection center in the Netherlands has officially commenced. CC NL contains research and restauration spaces as well as combined depots for more than 675,000 objects of the Rijksmuseum, the Netherlands Open Air Museum, the National Cultural Heritage Agency and the Het Loo Palace that are not permanently exhibited in the museums. Rated with the highest attainable design certificate (Outstanding) within the BREEAM NL-system, CC-NL will become one of the most sustainable buildings in the Netherlands. Completion of the collection center is planned for 2020.
