to Germany with kadans

Plus ultra mainz cepezed Interior

Cepezed

Kadans Science Partner is spreading its wings and realizing the building Plus Ultra Mainz for the Life Science Zentrum Mainz (LZM). cepezed is creating the design for this laboratory and company building together with a5 Planung GmbH. The building features a kink and has a prominent spot on the campus. The design takes into account the heat stress in the centre of Mainz by channeling wind (in the right direction).

Rheinland-Pfalz wants to become a beacon in the field of biotechnology - Malu Dreyer, the state's prime minister, calls it "a real future technology". Kadans set up a German branch for it. As with the other designs for campus buildings that cepezed made for Kadans, the communal space is at least as important as the offices and laboratories: innovation is all about exchange. This is possible in various rooms, but also on the stairs, in the atrium and in the restaurant. Flexible floor plans make it possible to adjust the size of rented spaces. Allowing startups to scale up without moving and keeping spaces tailor-made, i.e. easy to rent out.

One of the most striking aspects of the building of LZM is the kink in the façade with a continuous roof above it. This creates a covered outdoor space at a central location on the biotechnology campus. With this 'Life Science Hub', not only Mainz, but the entire state has big ambitions. 'The cooperation with Kadans increases the visibility of our biotechnology and lifts the attractiveness and network of this research area to a higher level,' said Malu Dreyer. The economy minister also rejoices: 'With Kadans, we have a strong, international partner on our side and thus the best support for further startups in the field of life sciences and biotechnology in Rhineland-Palatinate.'

Markus Scheja and Ilias Sarros of Kadans Science Partner Germany GmbH look forward to actively contributing to the growth of biotechnology in Mainz. 'This alliance is a valuable collaboration to connect and attract life science companies from all over the world,' they said when presenting the draft.
