commited to build in a circular way

Drukproef kanaalplaat prinsenhof A circulair centrum lagemaat cepezed

cepezed has an enormous drive to design and develop sustainable projects. We know from experience that a circular building is not automatically also future-proof. Last week - Circular Economy Week - architect Jasper Manders shared his knowledge on designing with harvested materials at ABT, one of our long-time partners.

duality
Engineering firm ABT took the opportunity of Circular Economy Week to put the versatility of circular construction under the microscope and build knowledge. In a series of events, all kinds of possibilities and applications were reviewed. Jasper Manders, architect at cepezed, gave a lecture at ABT on the duality of circularity. He has experience with several circular projects, such as the design for the Circular Knowledge Centre in Heerde and design research into reusing rotor blades of wind turbines, for Vattenfall and the What If Lab of the Dutch Design Foundation.

future-proof
Jasper is a 'systems thinker', with a clear vision of circularity. On the one hand, Jasper says, it is very important to harvest and reuse existing material, but that should not detract from the need to build future-proof, i.e. flexible and focused on value retention. Cepezed's designs are future-proof because these two facets are carefully considered. We make this consideration on the basis of our own knowledge and experience, but also that of our cooperation partners.

high ambition
ABT is one of our long-term partners. And just like cepezed, ABT does not shy away from unique, complex assignments. By working together on projects such as the Moreelsebrug, across the railway in Utrecht, and the BREEAM Outstanding-certified art depot Collectiecentrum Nederland, we keep raising the bar.
