Dutch Heritage Day on sustainability theme

Frontal view Arsenaaldelft bruggen

Next weekend, beautiful historic buildings will be open to the public during the Dutch Heritage Days on 10 and 11 September. In Den Bosch, for example, you can visit the Brabanthallen, in Tilburg the Textielmuseum and in Delft you can take a look inside the recently opened ArsenaalDelft.

brabant
Once it was the largest livestock market in Europe, now it is one of the largest complexes in the Netherlands for trade fairs, congresses and events. cepezed made the design for the complete restructuring, restoration and expansion of the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch. For the Textielmuseum in Tilburg, cepezed devised a plan for expansion and renovation.

delft
The ArsenaalDelft in Delft was recently festively opened by mayor Van Bijsterveldt. This was a major renovation and redesignation of the Armamentarium, a national heritage building complex. It now houses a hotel, restaurant and conference centre. The winning plan came from cepezedprojects and Driestar; cepezed created the design, cepezedbouwteam took care of the execution coordination and cepezedinterieur was also intensively involved. The centuries-old complex currently accommodates restaurant Loetje, Hotel Arsenaal Delft of Westcord Hotels and ExpoArsenaalof IQ Events.
On Saturday 10 September, there will be various shuttles from Korte Geer (next to Arsenaal Delft) to other participating locations. The first departure is at 10.30 am.

open monument day 2022
Visit the websites of Open Monumentendag 2022 for more information about the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch, the Textielmuseum Tilburg and ArsenaalDelft in Delft. And be sure to see the beautiful, sustainable monuments in real life. You can find out what is open on the website of Open Monumentendag 2022.

video series
The national organisation of Open Monumentendag 2022 has selected four buildings to promote this weekend. In a video series, with the theme 'Duurzaam duurt het langst' (Sustainability lasts the longest), special stories are shared behind monuments. ArsenaalDelft is highlighted by archaeologist Steven Jongma. "It is the old weapon storage of Holland. And now a beautiful hotel and restaurant (...) It is a unique piece of history, not only for Delft, but also for the Netherlands", he says. "When you are in a hotel room, you can still experience what used to happen here. (...) It is really worth a visit."
