The development on the more than 120,000 m2 area of Lijndenhof is fully focused on sustainable and innovative city logistics. The green location directly near motorway A9, directly near Schiphol Airport and centrally positioned in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is ideal for this.
Changing market mechanisms have resulted in an explosion of daily deliveries in urban conglomerations. And during the recent period of corona, its volume has only grown. In addition, customers have increasingly higher demands on delivery speed, price, time, location and sustainability. As a result, deliverers of parcel services, construction companies, supermarkets and, for example, meal services are increasingly determining the cityscape, which also causes problems with regard to liveability. CLIC wants to improve this through, among other things, less emissions, less noise pollution, less vehicle movements and less congestion.
CLIC will be a breeding ground for renewal of the supply of cities; the first of its kind in Europe. There is room for a variety of organizations, from delivery companies and technical service providers to concept developers and knowledge and educational institutions in the field of contemporary city logistics. Among other things, there will be flexible business spaces and offices, as well as logistics hubs for smart bundling and distribution of goods. In addition, there will be facilities for meeting, eating, drinking and sleeping.
