cepezed recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, a milestone shaped in no small part by Jan Pesman, one of the firm’s three founders and a driving force throughout its history. However, all journeys come to an end - Jan recently announced within the firm that he has stepped down from the board of directors. Thankfully, his involvement in cepezedbouwteam and cepezedprojects ensures he won’t disappear entirely.

"It feels right to step away with a design built exactly as I envisioned during my studies," Jan reflects, referring to the new villa in Meijendel's dunes, where he has lived since earlier this year. "Our kit of parts approach will remain successful for years to come. I draw this certainty from the past fifty years, during which time and again, it has proven its value."

While Jan will miss brainstorming with the team and the thrill of winning competitions, he looks forward to having more free time. Ronald Schleurholts and Paddy Sieuwerts will continue as cepezed’s partners. "Over the past fifty years, cepezed’s DNA has proven strong and resilient for the future," they say. "Building on that solid foundation, we will continue to seek answers and develop buildings for the future."
