bouwbedrijf osnabrugge will build town hall buren

Int 01 Gemeentehuis Buren cepezed

The municipality of Buren is getting a new town hall. For a park in Maurik, cepezed designed a friendly, wooden pavilion near a pond. The contractor is Bouwbedrijf Osnabrugge B.V. from Scherpenzeel, has been announced recently.

municipal pavilion
‘This is an important step towards a future-proof and sustainable town hall, that is better suited to the services to residents and our new way of working,’ said councillor Karl Maier at the signing of the contractor contracts. The new town hall has an attractive wooden load-bearing structure. It will be an energy-neutral building with facades of glass and bamboo under a remarkably wide canopy.

lightning-fast construction
Henk ten Broek of Bouwbedrijf Osnabrugge calls it ‘a beautiful design’ and expects the new town hall to be completed before the summer holidays of 2026 - at lightning speed in other words. Construction work will start in early June 2025 and a ceremonial first pile is planned for September. This will be a celebration with the inhabitants of Buren, who were also closely involved in the design of the building and its connection to its surroundings.

‘burenesque’ roof construction
How to make this a typical Burenesque building was another important question in the participation process. Because of the search for communal identity, the social function and the pleasant cooperation during the design process, made this a particularly nice assignment to work on. The specific identity was reflected, among other things, in a special roof construction for the double-height council chamber: here, the beams form a diamond pattern that rejuvenates towards the outside.

In addition to Bouwbedrijf Osnabrugge (for construction work), the contracting team consists of Gebr. Janssen of Beugen and Nikkelen of Groesbeek (installation work) and Van der Bijl & Heierman B.V. of Opheusden (site work). We look forward to further cooperation!
