international character 

Almere aims to become a hotspot for international companies and its employees. This international school is key when it comes to providing the children with a good education. The international character has been central to the design. In total there will be space for about 700 children, between the age of 4 and 19 years old.

living heart 

In a playful design of three linked building blocks, we formed a recognizable unity, with different zones both inside and outside. The various age groups each have their own learning environment that remains clear and small-scale. The central part forms the living heart of the complex, aimed at meeting and a wide range of communal activities, for which it is equipped with corresponding facilities.

holistic thought 

In the central area, the school's holistic ideas come to life perfectly: eating together in an assembly hall surrounded by greenery with a view of the vegetable garden, performances and rehearsing in the drama room, making music in the adjacent music room and learning together in the library a floor higher. It all happens here in a clearly visible place in the building.

green oasis 

The plot offers plenty of space for greenery around the school. By making smart use of this, small areas have been created in a natural way, which are arranged thematically. A separate playground is created for the younger children. The green oasis with fruit trees and various types of shrubs and plants is also perfect for educational purposes.
