High, light and open 

The more than 64,000 m2 complex has an open, light and pavilion-like atmosphere, a substantial clear height per storey and extra-wide office bays. The principal structure consists of a series of alternately linked longer and shorter bays.

Parking is organized within two underground layers and the plinth of the building. The upper storeys can be arranged entirely freely and are connected to each other by large voids and imposing staircases. Thanks to this flexible set-up, Schiphol Real Estate can easily respond to the individual space requirements of tenants. In addition to Microsoft, these include the Inland Revenue and a multinational in the food industry.

Fast & efficient construction 

Partly to achieve quick realization, all the technically complicated elements such as stairs and lifts and standpipes are concentrated in an elongated central zone. Specially designed façade elements more than 16 metres long also contributed to a dynamic implementation.

After moving into The Outlook, Microsoft had a high ranking as Great Place to Work for years in a row. This organization conducts an annual survey of trust, pride and enjoyment in the workplace.

The new Microsoft office represents an international example of The New World of Work. In addition to a better work-life balance, The New World of Work has resulted in a CO2 reduction of more than 30%. Fewer metres per employee are needed and, thanks to web and video conferencing facilities, the number of flights booked has dropped by almost 40%.
