Tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM a temporary exhibition about the magazine Utopia will open its doors at the Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft. This bimonthly magazine was published in the 70's by and for students at the Technical University Delft. Back then cepezed co-founder and co-owner Jan Pesman was the editor and designer of the magazine. During the long history of the Faculty of Architecture, there have been times again and again that the students - out of satisfaction and dissatisfaction - have started a magazine alongside the official channels, through which messages were distributed. Delft School, Architectural Studies and Oasis to name a few. Between 1975 and 1978, a few students, including Jan Pesman, published Utopia in their spare time. This ‘bimonthly magazine for scientific entertainment’, as the subtitle mentions, has since become a thing of the past and can’t be found in the Technical University library. Employees of the chair of History have taken the initiative to dedicate an exhibition to the periodical. Until the 7th of December, the ten published issues including two specials and historical documentation material are on view in the corridor of the Architecture Department at the Faculty of Architecture.
