The execution of the renovation of the City Hall of Woerden and its coupled regional history centre is fully in progress. The main contractor is BAM bouw & techniek. The original concrete casco has been almost fully kept. A reduction of floor space has been obtained by removal of the once added hall and a lowering of the high-rise section. The foundation for the new council hall has been poured. The coming month the construction portals for the new built parts on the front and back side will be put into place. Following de construction of the facades will start; an aluminium curtain wall for the City Hall volumes and closed aluminium sandwich panelling for the new RHC-part.
Employees will return to an office environment based on the latest insights of ‘Het Nieuwe Werken’, with a flexible layout and an abundance of workplace typologies. The interior design by cepezedinterior is based on a zoning of spaces with a gradient from concentration to more fluid dynamics and interaction. The more quite work places will be located along the De Blekerijlaan, while the areas for meeting and cooperation will be positioned along a void on the west side of the building.
The completion of the new City Hall is planned for the end of this year.
