city hall westland officially opened

On Wednesday September 27th the new city hall and municipal offices of Westland have been festively opened. The official opening act was performed by Mayor Sjaak van der Tak, alderman Bram Meijer, CEO of Volker Wessels Dik Wessels and director of Volker Wessels Piet van Hoeven.
The municipality of Westland originated in 2004 by the merger of the towns De Lier, 's-Gravenzande, Monster, Naaldwijk and Wateringen. By taking the new town hall into use the municipal departments, up to now spread out over the former towns finally are centrally located for efficiency, optimal cooperation and adequate, friendly service. The city hall functions as the public and administrative center and is located on the Verdilaan. The municipal office building, housing the city services and employees, is situated on the Laan van de Glazen Stad.
The new buildings both are realized within a DBFMO-contract commissioned to consortium De Groene Schakel, comprising the VolkerWessels companies Boele & van Eesteren, HOMIJ Technical Installations and PCH Dienstengroep (services) and Kondor Wessels Projecten. The architectural and interior design were made by cepezed and cepezedinterieur.

The municipality organizes two open days on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th September, where all residents of Westland are welcome to view the new city hall with their own eyes. On the Verdilaan there is also an exhibition on the design and construction. Both the project architect and the interior designer of cepezed provide guided tours. For the program at both locations, see the website of the municipality.
