During a prize ceremony in Copenhagen today, the cepezed-designed atrium of office complex De Resident in The Hague has been bestowed with a European Award for Steel Structures. The jury selected the project as the best Dutch steel structure realized in 2017.
De Resident is a large-scale renovation of two prominent office buildings in the city center of The Hague. The project was commissioned by the Central Government Real Estate Agency and houses the Ministries of Health, Welfare & Sport and Social Affairs & Employment. The team with cepezed has modernized both towers while cepezed transformed the intermediate passage into a pleasant living space. Steel frames that serve as coulisses and a 40 meter long multifunctional steel structured piece of ‘furniture’ are placed in newly design the atrium.
