cepezed is commissioned to design the new school building of Wolfert in Bergschenhoek. The school is part of the Wolfert van Borselen school group and comprises of a practical vmbo-high school and an internationally oriented bilingual mavo-high school. Offering challenging education and personal active coaching, Wolfert is a successful school in the region and has grown steadily since its establishment in 2009. The new schoolhouse replaces the current housing that has become too small and is in need of modernization.
The total engineering assignment was awarded to the team of cepezed (architecture), IMd Consulting Engineers (Construction), Galjema (m&e installations) and LBP | SIGHT (building physics) through a European tender. The team convinced the assessment committee with a compact and smart building design aimed at an efficient design, flexibility and the creation of an inspiring learning environment. The new branch of the Wolfert van Borselen school group will open in September 2019.
