The platform waiting room that cepezed designed for Leiden central station temporarily offers accommodation to a very special museum. At a number of stations in the Netherlands passengers now can enjoy a selection out of the numerous treasures from the depots of the National Museum of World Cultures (Tropenmuseum, Africa Museum and Museum of Ethnology).
Wednesday 21 June the project "Museum of ..." got a flying start, in which small museums are realized in various station waiting rooms. The museum of tv-host Floortje Dessing on platform 8 & 9 B from station Leiden is the first one. Inspired by her travels to Oceania and the Pacific Islands, she selected her favourite objects from the three museums. The exhibition, supported by a continuous video prestation, can be seen until July 24th. The Mini Museum then will travel to the stations of Arnhem, Utrecht, Zwolle and the 'terminal station' in the Tropenmuseum with guest curators singer Kenny B, street football player and rapper Soufiane Touzani, tv-presenter Filemon Wesselink and cookbook writer Yvette van Boven. Northern Light made the design of the mini museums.
