Last week, Dura Vermeer delivered the Genmab Research & Development Center and handed over the key to Genmab CEO Jan van de Winkel. The research building designed by cepezed enters its completion phase in which the facility will get its specific laboratory and offices interior, designed by cepezed interior.
The Genmab Research & Development Center is located at the Utrecht Science Park and covers 11,250 m2. The program includes offices, laboratories, conference rooms, meeting and concentration spaces, an auditorium, café, restaurant and underground parking and bicycle storage. The 16-meter wide atrium is spanned by three 'floating islands' position like a cascade, which together create an exciting and dynamic working environment. The islands act as traffic routes between the two beeches, and also include informal meeting areas. The images shown represented an earlier situation before handing over the key.
At the Utrecht location Genmab, originally a Danish biotechnology company, is conducting research and works on the development of therapeutic antibodies, especially for the treatment of cancer. It is expected that Genmab employees will move in their new building by the end of 2017.
