The new Police Services Centre Rotterdam was festively opened yesterday; attended by over 400 guests Minister of Security and Justice Mr. Stef Blok and chief of police Mr. Erik Akerboom together with a number of associates cut the ceremonial ribbon. Other officials who also gave a speech were director of the Police Services Center Mr. Gerrit den Uyl, mayor of Rotterdam Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb, CEO OVG Mr. Coen van Oostrom and chairman of the Works Council Operational Management Police Mr. Leo Smalt.
With this official opening the last of the three Dutch Police Services Centres (Politiedienstencentra, abbreviated PDC’s) have been opened; in sequence in Eindhoven, in Zwolle and in Rotterdam. By design of cepezedinterior, all the PDC’s have been realised, over the past year within the reorganization program of the Police to centralize their support operations. Facility Management, HRM, Finance, Communications, ICT and Information Management et cetera are now regionally centralized.
All the new PDC’s are housed in existing office buildings in which cepezedinterior brought about modern, pleasant and representative work environments. The layout and furnishing are based on the New Way of Work and comprise a large variety of work, conference and meeting places and spaces. PDC Rotterdam is located in the existing office building New Tide with a total of 7-storeys and a central atrium. Comparable to the design of PDC Zwolle each of these was strongly zoned and arranged with a gradual transition from dynamics and communality to quiet and concentration. Good orientation and distinguished identities for the different departments were realized by means of, among other things, the materialization, use of colours and graphic elements such as printed screens.
