Last Saturday October 29, minister Jet Bussemaker of Education, Culture and Science opened the cepezed-designed new Eindhoven building of the SintLucas College. Thus, the official occupation of the structure for creative and enterprising vocational training took place during The Netherlands' most important annual design event, the Eindhoven-based Dutch Design Week. With a range of exhibits, competitions, demonstrations and keynote lectures, SintLucas also actively took part in the festival.
The new accommodation on the Torenallee 75 is more than just a new school building; it is a hotspot for learning, meeting and inspiration. With its prominent position in the creative Strijp-S quarter and all opportunities and facilities the building has to offer, the renewed institute stimulates the interaction between learning and practice. “Students, apprentices and teachers work together with business, other schools and community organizations on their own future. In a community in which everyone’s talent and ambition counts we want to contribute sustainably to the bigger cause”, according to SintLucas College.
