cepezed designs collection centre netherlands

cepezed obtained the commission to design the new Collection Centre Netherlands (Collectiecentrum Nederland  - CC NL). This art depot will be set up to store, maintain and preserve the collections of the Amsterdam Rijks Museum, Paleis Het Loo (Apeldoorn), The Dutch Open-air Museum (het Nederlands Openluchtmuseum - Arnhem) and the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (Rijksdienst voor het Culturele Erfgoed (RCE) and will measure over 30.000 square meters. The cooperating institutions have selected a design team which consists, besides cepezed, the engineers ABT, Valstar Simonis en Peutz.


The new building will arise in the Amersfoort district of Vathorst, right along the A28 motorway. The Rijks Museum will be the owner and has transacted a letter of intent with the municipality to buy the land. According to plan CC NL will be taken into use in 2020.
