start demolition de knoop

The redevelopment of De Knoop State Office Building (Rijkskantoor De Knoop) is in full swing. The start has been made with the removal of asbestos, stripping the building’s carcass and the demolition of several sections. The latter concerning the two and three story volumes at the east and south side of the complex. A number of the removed typical glass façade panels will find new use in the temporary pavilion that will be realised at the corner of the Croeselaan and the Rabostraat and which will fulfil a restaurant function within the urban developments in the central station area. The demolition works will continue till the middle of 2016 after which the construction will commence. The important additions to the complex comprise an office volume extension, a conference centre and a spacious and transparent atrium that connects them. The delivery of the new State Office Building is planned for the first quarter of 2018. Commissioned by The Central Government Real Estate Agency the design and realization of De Knoop is hands of the consortium R Creators, cconsisting of Strukton, Ballast Nedam and Facilicom. cepezed is responsible for the architectural design, Fokkema & Partners for the interior design and Rijnboutt for the urban planning.
