On Friday September 25, the conveyance of the former army museum was celebrated. The Central Government Real Estate Agency (RVB) sold the historic, early seventeenth-century building originally functioning as an artillery warehouse to ArsenaalDelft. Among those present were representatives of Delft city centre lobbies, the Delft mayor and aldermen, the Armamentarium Delft Foundation (STARD), the RVB and the new owners. In a speech, Ms. Quax-Daniëls of the RVB addressed the activities of the recent past in the former museum. Subsequently, mayor Verkerk described the importance of the complex for the city of Delft and its inhabitants, visitors and businesses. New owner Arsenaal Delft explained its strategy for a sound and well-considered redevelopment of the complex into a hotel cum restaurant cum conference centre. After the different talks, the guests were allowed a look around in the complex. The afternoon was concluded with drinks on the sunny quay of the ArsenaalDelft.
