In honour of her 25th anniversary, the Dutch Flemish Society of Construction Physics (NVBV) organized a contest for the election of the best-designed buildings in terms of construction physics over the last 25 years. From all submissions, the professional jury choose five projects, among which the new construction of Brussels Environment, that cepezed designed in close cooperation with among others construction physics consultant DGMR. The project was already granted the BREEAM Excellent realization certificate and the quality mark for passive buildings.
Brussels Environment is the regional government authority in the field of the sustainability and uses its own new premises as a high-principled, national and international model of sustainability. The remarkable design including a curved roof facade that has largely been provided with solar panels importantly adds to the distinguished appearance of the building.
