The renovation of De Resident has been completed. On Friday April 24, the contractor delivered the building to the Cental Government Real Estate Agency, which in turn surrendered the keys to the users, the department of Health, Welfare and Sport and the ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. Over the coming period, these will move into the complex. The combined housing of the departments forms a part of the government policy to reduce the state office space in The Hague with over 40 percent in order to obtain substantial savings.
A design team consisting of cepezed, Hofman Dujardin Architects and the Antea Group has fully modernized the constituing buildings Helicon and Castalia and adapted them to flexible work methods, with 2.400 work places for 2.700 civil servants. The former Parnassusplein in between the buildings has been transformed into an atrium and will largely be open to the public during the day.
