cepezed and arup transform natlab into school

Together with multidisciplinary engineering consultancy Arup, cepezed transforms a part of the former Philips Natlab in the Eindhoven Strijp S area into the new accommodation of the Sint Lucas for lower and intermediate vocational education in creative-technical and entrepeneurial studies.

cepezed and Arup designed the winning plan for a total engineering assignment including architecture, stability structures, installation techniques, acoustics and construction physics. The project covers some 6.500 mrenovation and 8.000 m2 new construction. After completion, it provides study and work facilities for over 1.900 students and 175 staff members. The contract for the assignment is signed today, June 28th.

With its new domicile, the Sint Lucas takes advantage of the creative character of the location. Since technology concern Philips has left Strijp S and the former Natlab - where, among other things, the compact disc was developed - a lot of creative institutions and enterprises have settled in the area. Sint-Lucas anticipates intense interaction with these.
