The cepezed-designed Pas Reform company building in Doetinchem has been nominated for the 2013-edition of the Mies van der Rohe Award, the biennual prize for modern architecture with which the European Union and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation decorate excellent architecture and floodlight the contribution of European professionals to new ideas and technologies. The nomination follows earlier esteem of the premises as BNA Building of the Year 2012 Region East and a recent nomination for the Architecture Prize Achterhoek 2012. The vast attention for the Pas Reform building is remarkable, since it concerns only simple company hall. However, the various juries all admire the way in which an utterly high-grade appearance has been realized by means of a very limited budget and recources have been employed exceptionally efficent.
In 2009, the cepezed-designed office complex Westraven was also nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award, which is the full name of the prestigious bestowment. For more information on the award, click here.
